Burberry Fall 2012 + (edited)

This will probably be the shortest review I'll write to date. Main reason since there's no need to explain the formula and packaging of Burberry since there's enough reviews (and my previous post) on all of that information.

LET'S GET TO THE COLORS !!

Dark Sable: Finally, a crease color that I've been looking for. I never owned MAC *edit* Coquette, but it's the color and formula I wish Coquette was. I've swatched it enough to have an idea of what it looks like, but of course with MAC eyeshadows, the textures are lacking with some of their mattes. Dark Sable is a cool dark brown with a hint of grey. Coquette in comparison is a bit warmer than Dark Sable.

Mulberry: a warmer shimmery dark brown, leaning burgundy, but it's not red enough to be considered a true? burgundy. Ok maybe it can be considered burgundy. I don't have a similar shade like this in my stash. At first thought seeing it in the pan, I thought it would be too warm or just too "much" for my eyes. After seeing that it wasn't super warm, I had to get it.

Sepia Pink lip cover: a dark rose with some brown and a hint of purple in undertone. This color slightly amplifies my lip color, and adds a touch of brown. Such an elegant color for fall. For those who are my skintone and (or) have pigmented lips: RUN OUT AND GET THIS COLOR !! Of course if you're not afraid of a little brown. There's nothing wrong with of brown on the lips, but too much can be overwhelming on very fair skintones and (or) those with really pale lips. I'm generally not a fan of super brown lipsticks either. Some brown glosses are okay in my book since it's a sheer formula. Even the Burberry associate asked me to wear it because she wanted to see how it looked on me. She gasped with glee when she saw it on me. I actually like the color a lot and the definite surprise of the collection.

  1. Oh no! These are very very pretty color. Especially the lipstick! I haven't tried Burberry formula yet as I'm in love with Guerlain Rouge G lately. I picked up a few of their Fall collection. I dare not to pass Burberry counter or I will break my wallet!

    1. Rouge Gs are great colors and its a lighter weight formula. Burberry does have the advantage of making more colors that are "my lips but better" or more subdued colors in general. Guerlain makes more vibrant and bolder colors in comparison. Burberry lipsticks are highly fig scented, but the smell goes away after a few minutes of application.

  4. Hey girl! Lovely review, btw did you mean MAC's Mystery instead of Scene? Because Scene is a grey.. Burberry Taupe brown is also very similar but cooler/more grey, Taupe brown is my HG color to wear in the crease with shimmery ETK shadows :)
Anyway Sepia Pink is totally your color, bet it looks gorgeous on you. I will have to try it on in person to see how it looks on me..

    1. thank you for making me re-think which eyeshadow it was...definitely not mystery since it pulls a bit more warm on my skintone. i had originally meant coquette, but even coquette is a bit warmer than dark sable. so in the end, dark sable is the cooler and my ideal version of coquette.

i'm a dunce. thank you, and let me edit the post.

i don't own taupe brown, but thanks to you, i may get that next. i hope you'll like the look of sepia pink once you swatch it yourself. xoxo

  5. I'm so surprised to see how close RBR's Bejeweled Skylark and Burberry Mulberry look since they look nothing alike in the pan. I'm really on the fence with Mulberry since I can't see it in person.

    1. Mulberry is a harder color to pull off due to the warmer undertone. I'd suggest ordering from Nordstrom and if u don't like it, return it ? If that's too much of a hassle, then I'd hold out until more reviews come out. It's a permanent item from what I've been told, so it can wait.

  6. Gotcha! Actually Mystery pulls cool brown on me, which I like! :) Btw if you are in the mood for some "nothing" colors by Burberry check out Almond and Chestnut: Almond is a very understated neutral and Chestnut looks like a warm brown but pulls vaguely cool and purplish on my skin. Again it will probably look different on you but worth a look-see!
